David A. Dolak is Professor of Instruction  in the  Science & Mathematics Department at Columbia College Chicago. He is an seasoned teacher and scientist, accomplished luthier (instrument builder) and an avid outdoor adventurer.

Dave is a native of the Southern Shore of Lake Michigan – Chicago and the Calumet Region of  Northwest Indiana.    He currently lives in Hammond, Indiana.   You are likely to find him outdoors at any time of the year, cycling, hiking, or leading a tour of local geologically important sites.    Indoors, he spends time in his woodshop constructing various musical instruments.  He also maintains an active public schedule via lectures on topics including science, natural history, and music; as an active musician; and a docent at the Field Museum in Chicago.
